...do the factory 19" wheels on the A8 look too small? I don't know if it is the proportions of the car or the spoke design, but it is weird to say that a set of 19's are too small on a sedan.

It gets a bit less weird once you consider that it's actually on a huge car and not just a "sedan".

Its the sidewall. You'd have to go upgraded 20s on that one, even on the 20s with less sidewall the ride is superb.
